Artist Bio
Lisette Otero-Lewis is an award-winning fine art lyrical documentary photographer and educator based in Palm Coast, Florida. Born in the United States to Puerto Rican parents, her work explores identity, memory, and belonging across places and lived experience. Working in portraiture, still life, and lived environments, she uses photography to question how identity is shaped, carried, and remembered.
Otero-Lewis holds an MFA and teaches photography at Daytona State College, where she emphasizes concept-driven image making and visual storytelling. Her ongoing series El Tercer Espacio (The Third Space) is part of a larger body of work that examines cultural hybridity and the spaces people inhabit between generations, geographies, and histories.
Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at institutional venues, including the Lake County Museum of Art, and in juried group exhibitions. She is an active member of the Society for Photographic Education and participates in professional arts communities that support experimental and process-based practices.
